Emotional Homeostasis…. Yep!

Emotional Homeostasis… Yep!  It is a thing!  To take a step back and explain Homeostasis is the balancing system of your body that is responsible for practically every function! It even aids in keeping the internal temperature of your body at a perfectly toasty temperature around 98.6 degrees regardless of the external temperatures surrounding you.  So just as homeostasis balances and keeps your physical body in check it seems homeostasis is also the balancing system for your emotions as well.  This is fairly new research but has a very promising key to treatment of many emotional issues. Let’s dig a bit deeper!

Now… Legal Hippie Science ignite!  Ha! Rather you are open to admit this or not your emotional health is deeply connected to your mental health. A stressful event or even stress in general can and will affect how your body functions and your well-being.  You may even begin to suffer from aches, pains, and even sickness.  Physical response to stress can even include increased heart rate and blood pressure.

As stress rises we are beginning to see more and more cases of depression, anxiety and mood disorders.  A large majority of these people are turning quickly to prescription medications including SSRI’s.  SSRI stands for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or for a short description a serotonin transporter.  The problem with this is that researchers are now learning and understanding that while these might seem to be the fast bandade  they are messing with the human endocannabinoid system. The Endocannabinoid system actually protects our mind and body from negative external influences! The endocannabinoid system is also perpetually trying to achieve the perfect internal balance called homeostasis as I spoke of in the previous paragraphs.  When external stressors become apparent the endocannabinoid system will release certain cannabinoids to help! Each one is responsible for a different emotional reaction and a different physical response.  What this means is that when you feel your best and even perform your best your brain gets excited and releases tons of positive endocannabinoids within your body making you feel even better!  If you are wondering, these are your very own endoCANNABINOIDS that your body creates.  A very popular one in the endocannabinoid world is anandamide.  Anandamide is also known as the bliss molecule.  This special little bliss molecule is the human version of THC!  Anandamides help with mental health, pain relief,  post exercise relief, hunger, and even memory.

Now how does this tie into CBD.  Instead of reaching for pharmaceuticals to wreck havoc on your system further pushing you out of homeostasis try CBD. CBD or Cannabinoids aid and help your body to remain in homeostasis furthermore helping your own system to fight the good fight and supply the needs your body is craving… including your very own THC or otherwise know as anadamides aka bliss molecule.

So in a short study today, that literally just scraped the surface of the science behind it all, we have learned that CBD helps!  To help achieve your very own homeostasis and a natural boost of your very own THC (anandamide) reach for Legal Hippie CBD.

Post traumatic stress help!!! CBD to rescue!!!

nik-shuliahin-251237

Be prepared for this to the become super “sciency” but after all science is how we learn how it all works! Post traumatic Stress disorder can be absolutely debilitating.  It is a debilitating anxiety disorder that occurs after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.  The most common form of PTSD you will here of is from our veterans.  This is often called shell shocked.  It is much more than “shocked” it is life changing!  Now it is not just our veterans but many people that have suffered abuse including sexual abuse, addictions, witnessing traumatic events, abused children, etc etc etc.   The most common side effects off PTSD are intrusive thoughts recalling the traumatic event, nightmares, flashbacks, efforts to avoid feelings and thoughts that either remind you of the traumatic event or that trigger similar feelings, feeling detached or unable to connect with loved ones, depression, hopelessness, feelings of guilt (from the false belief that you were responsible for the traumatic incident),  irritability or angry outbursts, hypervigilance (being overly aware of possible danger), hypersensitivity, including at least two of the following reactions: trouble sleeping, being angry, having difficulty concentrating, startling easily, having a physical reaction (rapid heart rate or breathing, increase in blood pressure), headache, disrupted sleep and insomnia.  After the entirety of this list you understand the degree of how debilitating and life changing this is.  Now, can CBD help? Yes! Absolutely Yes!!! Let me explain….  CBD is a non psychoactive compound to cannabis.  When ingested CBD oil can help with the following:

Decrease feelings of anxiety
Improve symptoms of depression
Reduce hypervigilance often experienced by PTSD sufferers
Improve sleep quality
Eliminate aggressive reactions
Improve personal interactions
Reduce Flashbacks
Relieve Headaches
Reduce Irritability
Help Relieve Eye Strain From Light Sensitivity
Eliminate Sudden Twitching While Sleeping
Calm Restless Sleeping Habits

Now how is this list and the treatment of PTSD using CBD related?  CBD treats the conditions of the list and the conditions of the list are some if not all associated with these conditions!  CBD has the ability to effect the endocannabinoid system.  The stimulation of the endocannabinoid receptor with CBD is responsible for the treatment of PTSD symptoms! Researchers found that people with PTSD have lower levels of anandamides.  Anandamides act as a messenger molecule and plays a role in pain, depression, appetite, memory, and fertility.

The interesting thing about anandamides is that they are also a naturally endogenous (internally occurring) cannabinoid found in the human brain and nervous system that plays a role in the feeling of an overall well-being.  The word “anandamide” means “the bliss chemical” because it is released while we are feeling great.  CBD increases anandamide levels in the brain! I could go on and on and explain for days how CBD can help PTSD.  But in a short installment to my legal hippie site you should definitely consider CBD over conventional prescriptions medications!

For an alternative natural treatment of PTSD consider trying CBD.  I personally use Legal Hippie CBD for my own personal anxiety disorder.  If you want to try for yourself click the link below.  If you want more anandamides click the link below! If you need morw bliss click the link below!
